Film Analysis of True Lies

Film Analysis of "True Lies"

In True Lies, there are two running stories, which eventually tie in together.

The starring actor, Arnold Schwarzenegger, has two problems to deal with. He has an undercover detective job which is getting hot and heavy, and he has his marriage.

I completely agree with Schwarzenegger’s actions toward his terrorist leads. He was on a race to track down a large terror campaign. Bombing and fighting this group is exactly what I wanted to watch during the film. He prevented thousands of people from high levels of radiation. Even though the terrorist had (in their minds) reasons for nuclear warfare, I agree with what is right from wrong. As a citizen, I do not want to see my country go up in smoke.

Through all of this, Schwarzenegger was experiencing marital problems. He suspected his wife of cheating. He went all out, tapping phone lines and having her followed. If I were him I would have done the same thing. Even though I feel that it may be too much of a response, I would want to know what my husband was really doing behind the scenes. His wife, Jamie Lee Curtis, was only looking for an adventure. She wanted to live life to its fullest, becoming more of a risk taker. Most people, including me, do not want to lead boring lives, and neither did she.

One more effect is added to the situation. The daughter conceived in Schwarzenegger’s marriage is kidnapped. I disagree in the actions he took to retrieve his daughter. I would not have stolen a plane, in which can not be logically used to rescue a person. I’m sure he thought he was the only one who could physically perform the task, but it is so far out it couldn’t possibly happen.

This was an all-American-hero version of what happened over a month ago (Sep. 11th disaster). I enjoyed watching high velocity movie. I believe this film was created to show that the good guy always wins.
