The Murder Of Roger Ackroyd
The book is set in the village of King's Abbott in England. It is told by Dr. James Sheppard, who becomes Poirot's assistant. The story begins with the death of Mrs. Ferrars, a wealthy widow who is rumored to have murdered her husband. Her death is believed to be suicide until Roger Ackroyd, a widower who had been expected to marry Mrs. Ferrars is found murdered.
The suspects include Mrs. Cecil Ackroyd, Roger's hyperactive sister-in-law who has created personal debts through over spending; her daughter Flora; Major Blunt, Geoffrey Raymond, Acaroid's personal secretary; Ralph Paton, Ackroyd stepson and another person with heavy debts; Parker, a butler; and Ursula Bourne, a maid with an doggie history who resigned her post the afternoon of the murder.
The initial suspect is Ralph, who is engaged to Flora and stands to inherit his stepfather's fortune. Several critical pieces of evidence seem to point to Ralph. Poirot, who has just moved to the town, begins to investigate at floras request.
If you are reading this, I would gladly recommend it to anyone who likes murder and horror stories. It is a excellent book, which is written well by Agatha Christie.
Hello everyone,
I am here today to help deliver gods will among those who deserve it. In my time as a monk I have been asking god the same question everyday, if I am good would I still spend hundreds of year in the fiery depths of hell. In the darkest corners of hell where you are tortured senseless for years until you body & soul is purged from all sin.
But on night a dream came to me from god claiming that there is a way to help those you love (and yourself) in purgatory. You could buy an indulgence from the pope which would decrease the time you spent in the foul pit of purgatory.
All I have left to say to anyone who reads this is "when a coin in the coffer rings a soul from purgatory springs" that is all my dearest companions.
