Trends in health care illustrate how the increase in costs equates to a decrease in services, ultimately and inevitably removing any possibility for people to keep themselves healthy. Those without insurance do not make regular visits for checkups because they cannot afford it; only when their health becomes severely compromised do they seek out medical attention that in the end costs the government much more money than if those individuals would have had the ability to be preventive.
