The Change In Family Structure

Uploaded by : Essays-Now.com

3 pages in length. The family unit is an ever-changing entity in today's society; unlike sixty years ago when families consisted of a father who worked outside the home, a wife who maintained the household, children who appreciated the simpler things in life and a cohesion among all members that came from spending quality time together especially over the evening meal, contemporary families hardly resemble this fairytale description anymore. Each member of the twenty-first century family unit is to busy with the pressure to succeed - either in school or the workplace - to have much meaningful interaction with the others. Everything - even recreation - is approached at breakneck speed because there is simply too much to fit into a single day. The dismal result of today's impact upon families is such that communication, discipline and supervision are all but nonexistent. Bibliography lists 3 sources.
