Reality shows actually started on radio. Candid Camera was the first one on television. This genre exploded in the early days of television to the present. There are numerous so-called 'reality' shows on TV, some more real than others. This essay asks the question, are the many shows that emphasize anxiety disorders ethical? and does it make a difference if celebrities are in the cast?
