As we live longer, we are subject to acquiring one or more chronic illnesses, some of which come with advancing age. Older age ranges are the most quickly growing population. This has to do with advances in medicine. Chronic illnesses interfere with daily life activities. While most patients are cared for in private homes, usually by daughters, some conditions may advance to the point when the patient will receive better and more needed care in a facility. This essay discusses that issue and others, such as stigmatization, sexuality, and attitudes of healthcare providers. There are six sources used in this four page paper.
